The 6th International RWSN Forum was attended by over 480 delegates from 54 countries. It was opened by Ministers from Uganda and Ethiopia. Around 100 papers, posters and films were presented in a series of parallel and plenary sessions. There was an exhibition comprising 28 exhibitors from the public sector, private enterptises and NGO. Social and networking opportunities were provided. The event was supported by simulataneous English-French translation. On Friday 2nd December, delegates had the option of going on field trips or attending specialist seminars organsied by IRC WASHCOST project and the International Energy Agency – Photovoltaic Pumping Programme (IEA-PVPS) programme.

The Water and Sanitation Working Group (GAS), as part of its assistance for research and development of alternative technology options for rural water supply, is supporting the National Water Directorate on the implementation of different pilot projects for testing the development and production of the rope pump in Mozambique. Skat was part of the Technical team in charge of the evaluation of the pilot project for development of rope pumps.
