Peter Oggier has more than 30 years of professional experience in various functions, such as Consultant and Project Manager in developing countries (more than 6 years), as Engineer in the private sector (5 years), as Government Official (10 years) and as independent Consultant (more than 11 years).

His broad experience in developing countries includes strategy and policy development, legislation, capacity building and institutional development. In his field of specialisation, the Management of Wastes and Contaminated Sites, he is not only very familiar with all the scientific and the practical technical aspects, but as well with the elaboration of sector policies, concepts, technical and administrative regulations, guidelines, manuals, educational and informational material. Design of practical solutions, leading of interdisciplinary working groups and the application of working instruments for guiding processes, monitoring, surveillance and evaluation are important parts of his professional practice.
